What does it mean that export no longer exists?
In Presswork, your project is a Bundle. Instead of creating separate copies for each format, the software automatically updates Kindle, PDF, and Web files every time you write. It is like having a real-time assistant preparing each package for you.
Where do my documents go? Are they safe?
Unlike Word Online or Google Docs, Presswork never saves anything on the internet. Your files stay exclusively on your computer. Nobody, not even us, can read what you write. It’s the safest solution in the world for intellectual property and professional secrets.
Do I need to be a tech expert to use it?
Absolutely not. Presswork is designed to do the heavy lifting for you. You just write; the app handles margins, fonts, formatting, and technical codes. If you can use a normal text editor, you can use Presswork.
Can I still collaborate with people who use Word?
Absolutely. You can import Word files to clean them up and turn them into professional documents, or export your work in Word format to share with people who don’t use Presswork yet.
What is Excel export for?
It’s useful for managing lots of data. If you’re writing a book, it can automatically create a table with every scene and character. If you’re a professional, it can generate data summaries extracted from your text in a format readable by any management software.
How do I know my eBook will work on Kindle?
Presswork includes an automatic validator. Before saving, the app scans the eBook and alerts you if something is wrong, ensuring your book is readable on every device without unpleasant surprises after publication.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Presswork is a native software that lives on your PC. You can write on a plane, in the mountains, or on a train without losing access to AI features or layout tools.
Do I need to learn Markdown to use Presswork?
No. Presswork includes Fluid Writing, which automatically converts what you type into correct formatting. You can use bold, italic, headings, and lists exactly as in Word, without ever seeing a Markdown symbol. If you already know Markdown, the editor supports it natively too.
My publisher uses Word. Can I still collaborate?
Yes. You can import any .docx file directly into Presswork, work on it, and re-export it to Word at any time. Your publisher won't notice any difference in the final file — but you'll have worked in a much more powerful environment.
Is the generated ePub really compatible with Kindle?
Yes. Every ePub generated by Presswork automatically passes the built-in EPUB 3 validator. Compatibility is tested on Kindle Paperwhite, the Kindle app for iOS and Android, Kobo, and Apple Books. Any issues are flagged before saving — not after publication.
Does the digital signature have legal value in Italy and Europe?
Yes, with full legal validity. Presswork applies the RFC 3161 standard: when you sign a document, the software sends a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) to a certified Timestamp Authority, which returns a signed token with the exact date and time. This proves beyond dispute that the document existed in that precise form at that moment — the digital equivalent of a notarial authentication. The qualified timestamp is recognized under the CAD (Italy's Digital Administration Code) and the European eIDAS regulation, with validity across all 27 EU member states. It is accepted in court, by tax authorities, and for any act requiring a certified date.
Can I use my existing signing certificate (e.g. Aruba, Infocert, Namirial)?
Yes. Presswork accepts any signing certificate in .pfx or .p12 format — the same file issued by Aruba, Infocert, Namirial, Poste Italiane, or any other accredited CA. Load the file, enter your certificate password, and the software applies the signature in PAdES-T format (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures with timestamp). No new purchase needed: the certificate you already have works.
Do my clients need to install Presswork to read the documents?
No. The documents you deliver to clients are standard PDFs, openable with any reader — Adobe Reader, a browser, or a mobile app. Presswork is only for you, the creator. Recipients don't need to install anything.
